Company Chameleon believes in Dance Theatre as a vital method for social change. Their work allows the viewer to experience the art of dance whilst tackling challenging issues in inventive ways that allows the viewer access and inclusion.
Through the performance of their work, and through educational programmes, they hope to support social cohesion and artistic understanding through the propagation of expression, creativity and physicality. Company Chameleon initiates, encourages and supports Dance Theatre by fostering artistic exchange between dancers, choreographers and students both regionally and internationally.
Formed in 2007, Chameleon is the collective vision of artists Anthony Missen and Kevin Turner. Their collaboration began in 1994 at Trafford Youth Dance Theatre. After formal training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, they went on to work collectively and independently with some of the most innovative and exciting British and International Dance and Dance Theatre companies and choreographers.
Their work as independent dance artists secured their own paths. Over the last 15 years their thread of mentorship and collaboration has been uncut. In creating Chameleon the duo have come together to develop and present their own works, alongside works from some of the worlds foremost contemporary choreographers.
