Rosie Kay (born 1976) trained at London Contemporary Dance School and has won numerous awards for her work, including being awarded by the Queen in person as a Young Achiever of Scotland at Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh; The Bonnie Bird New UK Choreography Award; Cultural Highlight of the Year 2006 by The Sunday Herald; 1st Prize at the International Solo Dance Festival Stuttgart; 1st Prize International Dance Festival, Sardinia; and a Channel 4 award for Creative Class.

Rosie set up Rosie Kay Dance Company in 2004 and the company’s productions include Patisserie, Asylum, Honey You’re a Pig, The Wild Party, Double Points: K and Supernova. Her film work includes The Wild Party and 22. Her work has toured the UK and International Festivals including Dance Umbrella, Edinburgh Festivals, Lichfield Festival, *Belfast Festival, The Place Spring Loaded season, and International Dance Festival Birmingham. The company has just completed its third UK tour.

Rosie is a Rayne Foundation Fellow, which has led to secondments with Emio Greco| PC, the late film director Anthony Minghella, a period with MP’s in Westminster, a secondment with Sadler’s Wells, and an attachment joining army training exercises with the 4th Battalion The Rifles and at the rehabilitation centre, Headley Court.

Rosie has also choreographed works for Birmingham Royal Ballet, Ludus Dance, productions at The Barbican and Royal Opera House 2, the Soho Theatre, The Young Vic and The Big Dance, attended by Lord Coe. She is Associate Artist of DanceXchange and the course leader for the Centre for Advanced Training for the West Midlands.
