South East Dance is the national dance agency for South East England.
Its mission is to develop more and better dance, for communities, screen and performance through innovative programmes. It is passionate about dance and excellence and creativity is at the heart of all its work.
The aims of South East Dance are:
- to increase access to dance and develop new and existing audiences
- to ensure diversity is embedded in to all that it does
- to provide advice and opportunities for debate and networking in dance across the South East region
- to deliver high quality professional development opportunities for dance artists and practitioners
- to act as an art form leader and ensure excellence and innovation through trailblazing and groundbreaking programmes.
Projects range from offering unique, in depth opportunities for participants to engage in meaningful, life enhancing experiences of dance, to large scale community projects targeting key community groups, to producing, commissioning and distributing an extensive catalogue of award-winning dance films in collaboration with some of the world’s most acclaimed directors and choreographers.
South East Dance wants to be at the heart of dance development in the South East of England.
