Stan Won’t Dance was formed in 2003 by experienced director/choreographers Liam Steel and Robert Tannion and producer Ellie Beedham, out of a shared vision to expand the boundaries of dance and physical theatre.
Since that time, the company has achieved considerable success, creating a strong portfolio of works, including Sinner, Revelations, Skylon Spirits and Off the Wall, and undertaking outside commissions for Bare Bones in Birmingham (Crazy Gary for The 5 Man Show) and Hong Kong’s Performing Arts Academy (Sinking Water).
Stan Won’t Dance’s key artistic objective is to work in close collaboration with innovative writers and the finest creative artists from other disciplines to produce stimulating and original new works that seamlessly combine choreography, design, music and the spoken word.
