Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, over the last two decades Birmingham Royal Ballet has become grounded in the life of the city. Under the leadership of Director David Bintley and Chief Executive Christopher Barron, the Company has a devoted audience in Birmingham and is also a powerful ambassador abroad, in recent years completing successful tours to Japan, the USA, Hong Kong,
South Africa and China.
Since the arrival of the Company’s Associate School Elmhurst School for Dance (now led by Principal Elaine Brook and Artistic Director Desmond Kelly) in Birmingham in 2004, the two organisations have built a strong relationship, allowing the students to gain an insight into a professional dancer’s life and valuable performance experience.
