Lost Aakash Odedra

  1. 5th February, 12:00 — 12:10

The Patrick Centre

This piece forms a double bill with Company Decalage.
Running time: approx 1 hour (Company Decalage 30mins, Aakash Odedra 30mins).

Lost is dedicated to Aakash’s cousin Lakhan Rajput (24th May 1989-25th November 2009)

Amidst life there is death. Death is one certainty people choose to ignore. The piece explores the physicality of the body whilst it dies. When the body is shutting down, there remains a connection between the physical, emotional and spritual. The body can illustrate the torture or bliss a soul experiences. We show grief at somebody else’s death and sadness in their pain.

At the news of being told that a close one is dying and spending last moments with them, there is a sense of helplessness, frustration and feeling lost. Whilst watching somone die, the moments are permanently inscribed in memory.
