Undecided about coming to BDE?
We’ve been asking some of our delegates why they come to BDE – what it means to them in terms of the work that they do, and how beneficial it is as a showcase event. Here are some of the comments we’ve received – so, if you’re undecided about attending this year, this might just help you make up your mind…
“This will be my third BDE and I look forward to seeing new work from the British artists (whom I have come to know from previous editions) and meet once again with colleagues from the UK and abroad. The environment of BDE is an ideal one for me as it nicely balances programmers, artists, and artists managers – the royal triplex that allows us to move dance around the world.”
Carolelinda Dickey
Co-Director, international tanzmesse nrw
“I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of performances by UK-based choreographers. The combination of performances, meeting and network possibilities gives me the opportunity to have an insight into the contemporary dance scene of the UK. In every even year I focus with December Dance Festival on a specific country or region, and December Dance 2012 could be a focus on Dance in the UK.”
Samme Raeymakers
Artistic Coordinator, December Dance/Concertgebouw Brugge (Belgium)
“I always look forward to BDE to catch up with artists’ work, see new choreographers and spend time with colleagues and friends. This year, I’m particularly looking forward to the Research Project, which is a critical initiative for nurturing risk-taking.”
Laurie Upritchard
Dublin Dance Festival
